QINGDAO PORT DECIDED TO WORK WITH JIDU SHIPPING

Qingdao Port "holds hands with"  the world's largest pulp shipping company, Jidu Shipping.

On January 10th, Qingdao Port International Logistics Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qingdao Port (referred to as “Qinggang Logistics”), signed a full-scale logistics cooperation agreement with Jidu Shipping, the world's largest pulp and groceries carrier company, to further expand cooperation in the pulp business space, and build the largest pulp transfer distribution base in northern China.
Qingdao Port is the world's largest pulp port, with the largest bulk cargo dock in northern China, accounting for more than 60% of the northern pulp port. Created a world record for pulp operation with a single ship day and night discharge rate of 50,400 tons.

As the world's largest pulp and cargo transportation company, Jidu Shipping has the world's largest open hatch gantry crane and crane fleet, operating about 130 ships. The routes mainly include North American and South American routes, covering major pulp production bases in North America and South America.

The world's largest pulp port is the largest pulper company, and has reached a cooperation agreement on the whole process of logistics, which is full of expectations for the cooperation prospects.

“China is the largest pulp business market in Jidu Shipping, accounting for 50% of our business volume,” said Jared Heyman, Director of Operations, Asia Pacific, Jidu Shipping.“It is expected that there will be a great increase of pulp market in China in the next few years. The agreement signed today is very important. We look forward to closer communication with Qingdao Port and open up longer-term cooperation."

Maritime observers follow cargo volumes closely in the August-through-October period. That’s considered the traditional peak shipping season.  It’s the time of year when U.S. retailers accelerate import orders for holiday merchandising. The Port reported that import volume increased 5 percent last month over September 2017 totals. RIYADH AIRPORT OWNS ITS LOGISTICS ZONE

JEDDAH — Higher authorities recently approved the setting up of an integrated logistics zone at King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, Okaz has learned. According to the regulation for integrated logistics zones, no Value Added Tax (VAT) will be levied on the goods in these zones as long as they are in customs pending status or if they are shifted temporarily between the main yard and the area allocated for the purposes of repair, maintenance and post-sale services.
